LittleBite is a feeding-guidance app for parents and caregivers of babies and young children. This page explains what the app keeps on your phone, what it sends elsewhere, and who receives it. If anything is unclear, write to littlebiteapp@gmail.com.
Who this is for
LittleBite is for adults. It is not directed at children. Details about your child are entered by you, the parent or caregiver.
What stays on your phone
The following is stored in the app on your phone: your baby's profile (nickname, birth date, feeding stage, allergies, photo if you add one), your fridge and pantry lists, saved recipes, meal plans, foods your child has tried, and your settings. We do not have a user account system and we do not receive this profile data.
The app also keeps a small record of how many fridge scans and Bite Coach messages you have used, and your subscription plan, in your iPhone's secure Keychain so the free allowance cannot be reset just by reinstalling the app.
What is shared, and with whom
AI features (only if you agree). Before your first scan the app asks your permission. If you agree, the photo you take is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to our AI provider, Anthropic, to identify the food. We do not store the photo. Bite Coach works the same way: your message is sent together with your child's age in months, any allergies you entered and the foods in your fridge list. Your child's name and photo are never sent. You can withdraw your permission at any time in Settings.
Service providers that run the app. We use a small number of providers for hosting and security, usage analytics, crash reporting, recipe stock photos and subscription management. They receive only technical and usage information: a random install identifier, app version, phone model and operating system, basic app events (such as which screen was opened), error details if the app crashes, and your subscription status. They do not receive your photos, chat messages, your child's name or health notes. Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment card or Apple ID password.
To enforce usage limits and measure cost, our server keeps a short record of each AI request: the time, the random install identifier, the type of request, whether it succeeded, and the amount of AI processing used. It does not record your photos or message text. During beta testing, an invite code may be linked to a tester's first name.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Where data is processed
Some of our providers, including our AI provider, process data in the United States or other countries outside your own, under their own privacy terms and safeguards.
Your choices and rights
You can delete the app's data from your phone in Settings > Privacy > Delete account & data, or by deleting the app. You can withdraw AI permission in Settings. You may ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use by emailing littlebiteapp@gmail.com. If you live in the EU or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
